Donald Trump’s inauguration speech will be more philosophical than policy-oriented, according to the incoming press secretary Sean Spicer.
On Thursday, Spicer held a press conference where he said to reporters, “The president-elect continues to make edits and additions to his inaugural address….It’s going to be a very personal and sincere statement about his vision for the country. He will discuss what it means to be an American, the challenges that we face...”
Spicer then went on to say, “I think it’s going to be less of an agenda and more of a philosophical document, a vision of where he sees the country, the proper role of government, the role of citizens.”
The incoming press secretary is also quoted as saying that Trump has “gotten input and advice from individuals, but this is something that he has found very dear and personal, and it is his opportunity to express…where he wants to take this country.”
On Wednesday, the president-elect tweeted a photo of himself with the caption, “Writing my inaugural address at the Winter White House, Mar-a-Lago, three weeks ago. Looking forward to Friday. #Inauguration.”
