The Pittsburgh Steelers have reinstated assistant coach Joey Porter after the assault charges against him were dropped. Porter spent four days on team-administered leave following an alleged altercation at a bar on Sunday night in which he was accused of grabbing the wrists of a police officer. "I regret that I was involved in an incident that could have been a distraction to our team. Most importantly, I regret that I touched the police officer and I sincerely apologize for that action. Thankfully, no one was injured." According to the AP, the charges were dropped after the district attorney reviewed the surveillance footage and found only disorderly conduct and public drunkenness as the chargeable offenses.
