During Wednesday’s press conference, Donald Trump commented, “As far as hacking, I think it was Russia.”

On Wednesday, Donald Trump participated in his first official press conference since his early November election as the 45th president of the United States, reports Politico.
In addressing the topic of hacking activities and the effect on the 2016 presidential race, Trump commented, “As far as hacking, I think it was Russia.”
That statement was immediately followed by, “I also think we also get hacked by other countries, and other people.”
As example, Trump mentioned China.
The president-elect also noted that “…the Democratic National Committee was totally open to be hacked. They did a very poor job. They could have had a defense, which we had…”
Though Trump acknowledged that Russian hacking occurred, he did not comment on its impact on the 2016 election outcome.
Just days prior, he denied that his campaign was aided by the Russian interference.
On Friday, following a briefing by U.S. intelligence, he said in a statement, “While Russia, China, other countries, outside groups and people are consistently trying to break through the cyber infrastructure of our governmental institutions, businesses and organizations including the Democratic National Committee, there was absolutely no effect on the outcome of the election including the fact that there was no tampering whatsoever with voting machines. There were attempts to hack the Republican National Committee, but the RNC had strong hacking defenses and the hackers were unsuccessful.”
