Fox News' Shepard Smith defended CNN after Donald Trump's heated exchange with Jim Acosta.

At Donald Trump’s Wednesday presser, his first in over 160 days, he got into a rather heated exchange with CNN’s Jim Acosta.
Following the press conference, Fox News' Shepard Smith defended CNN, noting, in part, “President-elect Trump today told CNN's Jim Acosta that his organization amounts to fake news. CNN’s exclusive reporting on the Russian matter was separate and distinctly different from the document dump executed by an online news property. Though we at Fox News cannot confirm CNN’s report, it is our observation that its correspondents followed journalistic standards and that neither they nor any other journalists should be subjected to belittling or delegitimizing by the President-elect of the United States.”
The incident Smith was referring to began shortly after Trump targeted CNN for “going out of their way” to build up the unsubstantiated report that alleges Russia has compromising information about him.
Acosta immediately shouted out, “Since you are attacking us, can you give us a question?”
Trump replied, “Not you…Your organization is terrible!”
Undaunted, Acosta continued his attempts.
Ultimately, Trump called him “rude” and said, “I’m not going to give you a question. You are fake news!”
After the press conference, Acosta tweeted, "Fortunately ABC's Cecilia Vega asked my question about whether any Trump associates contacted Russians. Trump said no."
