Edward Snowden tweeted this morning, asking President Obama to pardon Chelsea Manning in his last few days in office. Manning has been in prison since 2010, serving a 35-year sentence for providing classified military and diplomatic material to WikiLeaks. Previously, President Obama said that he would not pardon Snowden, who has been in exile in Russia since 2013, when he revealed domestic and international spy operations to the press. On Tuesday, NBC News cited a Justice Department source that said Obama put Manning on his list of possible commutations before he leaves office.
