In a New York Times interview, Donald Trump has called allegations surrounding Russia's role in the U.S. election a "political witch hunt."

Donald Trump continues to dismiss the allegations of Russian hacking, calling it “a political witch hunt.”
During an interview with the New York Times on Friday morning, he questioned the prolonged scrutiny on Russia, in part, by referring to prior cyber-activity against the U.S. Office of Personnel Management by China.
Trump is quoted as saying, “China, relatively recently, hacked 20 million government names.  How come nobody even talks about that?  This is a political witch hunt.”
He used the phrase again to explain what he thinks is behind the investigation, saying about his opponents, “They got beaten very badly in the election.  I won more counties in the election than Ronald Reagan. They are very embarrassed about it.  To some extent, it’s a witch hunt.  They just focus on this.”
His tweets on Thursday also reflected his skepticism. Trump posted, "The Democratic National Committee would not allow the FBI to study or see its computer info after it was supposedly hacked by Russia. So how and why are they so sure about hacking if they never even requested an examination of the computer servers? What is going on?"
The president-elect is scheduled to receive a briefing today from James Clapper, Director of National Intelligence, about evidence of Russia’s involvement in the U.S. election.
