Two brothers with very different qualities both attempt to become policemen, with disastrous results in Heroes in Blue. The affable Dick Purcell and Charles Quigley star as the brothers, with Purcell becoming an upstanding police office while Quigley washes out. Quigley, downtrodden, gets mixed up with gangsters in a desperate attempt for money and respect. Purcell, not wise to his brother’s terrible situation, gets abruptly alerted to the danger when their father is brutally murdered and Quigley is mixed up in it. This is a taut and action filled film that boils over when Purcell faces off with the gangsters in a gripping finale at a horseracing track. Heroes in Blue is more than just a feel good film about Police Officers, dealing with painful family drama and fast paced action.
