Actresses Rani Mukerji, Shabana Azmi and Karisma Kapoor spoke about the issue of safety of women at an event in suburban Mumbai. Rani appealed to the government to make martial arts lessons compulsory for school students, whereas Azmi said that children should be brought up to be sensitive about women. Karisma also spoke about the need for women to stand up for their rights. Javed Akhtar was also present at the event and shared his thoughts on the issue.
