Thomas the Tank Engine is a small fictional steam locomotive. He became the most popular character in the series, and is the main character in the accompanying television spin-off series, Thomas & Friends on PBS.\r
Thomas is a tank engine, painted blue with red lining, and displays the running number one. His other locomotive friends are Percy, Gordon, Henry, James, Edward, Toby, Emily, Rosy, Stephen, Burt, Sir Topham Hat, Harold, Diesel 10 and Cranky.\r
