Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva had two sons, Ganesha and Karthik. While Ganesha was a fat foodie, Karthik was adventurous and handsome. One day to decide who was the faster among the two, Ganesha and Karthik thought of having a contest. They decided that, both would take three rounds of the earth and the first one to touch the feet of their parents would be declared the winner.
