Play-Doh is a modeling compound used by young children for art and craft projects at home and at school. In flour, water, salt, boric acid and mineral oil, the product was first manufactured in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA, as a cleaner paper painted in the 1930s [1] When a class of children started using the wallpaper cleaner as a modeling clay, the product was reworked and sold in schools of Cincinnati in the mid-1950s Play-Doh was demonstrated to an Education Congress in 1956 and opened department stores leading retail accounts.
