Indian Premier League made it sure that cricket no longer remained a gentlemen’s game. These controversies which happened during the time of IPL shocked us all.

Sreesanth- Harbhajan Spat
In 2008, during the first season of IPL in Mohali, Mumbai Indians skipper Harbhajan Singh allegedly slapped Kings XI Punjab bowler Sreesanth. The latter was snapped crying after the incident and this made rounds for long.

Lalit Modi sacked
Lalit Modi, who made IPL successful, was dismissed as IPL Commissioner minutes before 2010 IPL final ceremony. He was sacked for alleged misappropriation of funds.

SRK banned to enter Wankhede
In IPL 2013, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan got into a spat with a security guard at Wankhede Stadium after KKR-MI match. As a result, Maharashtra Cricket Association’s then head late Shri Vilasrao Deshmukh, had banned SRK from entering the stadium for the next five years.

Spot fixing
Sreesanth, IPL’s most controversial cricketer was accused of spot fixing along with his Rajasthan Royals team mates Ankeet Chavan and Ajit Chandila.

Cricketers busted at rave party
There was a rave party busted by the Mumbai crime branch in Juhu where several television actors and cricketers such as Wayne Parnell and Rahul Sharma were accused of doing drugs.

Pomersbach molests a woman
Luke Pomerbasch, a middle-order Australian Batsman made headlines, but sadly not for his cricket-playing skills. Instead, he was arrested by the Delhi police for allegedly molesting a US woman of Indian origin. Luke made his debut for Kings XI Punjab but was later bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Ganguly is dumped by KKR
When Kolkata Knight Riders dumped Sourav Ganguly aka Dada after the third season, the entire city of joy was enraged. From then on a cold war begun between SRK and Sourav that continues to this day.
