In 1983, Jackie Shroff had shot to fame overnight after starring in Subhash Ghai’s ‘Hero’ and now, decades later, the film’s story might prove to be Sooraj Pancholi’s claim to fame.
Produced by Salman Khan and directed by Nikhil Advani, ‘Hero’, which is a remake of the original film, marks the acting debuts of Sooraj Pancholi, the son of Aditya Pancholi and Athiya Shetty, the daughter of Bollywood’s ‘Anna’ Suniel Dhetty. What’s more, a little birdie claims that the original ‘Hero’ Jackie Shroff might play a baddie in the remake project
Salman Khan, who is known for mentoring fresh talent, is also known for his various controversies and his protégé Sooraj is not new to infamy either. Even as Sooraj was finalized for the film, he became notorious as late Jiah Khan’s boyfriend, who was allegedly responsible for Jiah committing suicide due to depression. Needless to say, this ensured that Sooraj became a known name even before the film went on floors.
Recently, the makers of the film unveiled the first look of the film, which featured Sooraj in a white sailor's uniform on top of a yacht, popping a champagne bottle and we must say that the newbie looked quite dashing in the first look.
‘Hero’ revolves around a young criminal, who impersonates a cop and kidnaps the daughter of a senior cop for arresting his boss. However, the kidnapper and the victim end up falling in love with each other, which complicates the whole situation and compels the kidnapper to reconsider his actions.
The original film was a major hit mainly due to the music and Jackie’s rugged charm and we hope the new ‘Hero’ too will win hearts at the box office…
