"Anthills of the Savannah" by Chinua Achebe was first published in 1987. It was the author's fifth published novel.

The book was a finalist for the 1987 Booker Prize for Fiction. The book is said to be the most important novel to have come from Africa in the 1980s. The novel was critically acclaimed and it recieved highly positive reveiws.
