The 2017 Sundance Film Festival announcements have commenced, starting with the release of 66 films selected to participate in the program. The festival announced line-ups for U.S. Competition, World Competition and NEXT, and the environmentally focused New Climate program. The New Climate program is the festival's latest addition, reflecting founder Robert Redford’s ongoing commitment to environmental issues. This year's programming features new work from independent film firms such as Parker Posey, Michael Cera, and Elizabeth Olsen. The 2017 Sundance Film Festival runs from January 19 – 29th.
