Parents of seriously ill 5-year-old boy freed by Spanish judge The parents of five-year-old Ashya King have left a Madrid prison after a Spanish judge ordered their immediate release.\r
\r
The couple were separated from their son following a two-day Europe-wide search after they removed him from a British hospital against medical advice.\r
\r
âI have to go and see my son,â said the boyâs father after being released. âSo thank you Spain for helping us, thank you to England for helping us and weâve only got positive things to say about everything.â\r
\r
Ashya suffers from a brain tumour. His parents want him to receive pioneering treatment abroad not available from Britainâs health service.\r

The high-profile case of the parentsâ arrest and separation from their son prompted British Prime Minister, David Cameron, to call for âan outbreak of common senseâ amid widespread condemnation in the countryâs media of the British policeâs pursuit of the couple.
