Footage has today emerged of Indian captain Virat Kohli also seemingly shining the ball using saliva from a sweet in his mouth during the drawn first Test against England in Rajkot.
The footage appeared in the English Daily Mail on Tuesday, the same day that South African captain Faf du Plessis was fined for an identical offence by the International Cricket Council (ICC).
Television cameras caught Kohli putting his right hand in his mouth and then rubbing his fingers in his mouth, which appeared to have chewing gum or a sweet in it.
He then appeared to shine one side of the ball.Kohli was not charged by the ICC, but much like the Du Plessis incident, it would appear as if the ICC match referee was unaware of ny such footage and exactly as in the case of Du Plessis, no mention was made of it in his post-match report.
