Honduras: Indigenous Communities Unite Against Extractive Policies

For the last three years the Honduran government has been handing out concessions to private corporations for the use of the country's natural resources for hydroelectric dams and other extractive development projects. On Tuesday, indigenous communities from around the country gathered in Tegucigalpa to form a United Front to defend their territory. More than 400 people attended the meeting, including the daughter of the Salin indigenous and environmental activist Berta Caceres. Our correspondent Gerardo Torres with the story.
