The FDNY has reportedly told its firefighters to refrain from hanging pictures or displaying other items related to President-elect Donald Trump after receiving complaints from some residents who spotted a Trump mask on a truck.

A group in New York City is being discouraged from displays celebrating Donald Trump’s election victory.
According to the New York Post, “The FDNY has ordered firefighters to not hang pictures of President-elect Donald Trump in firehouses or on their trucks, angering some members of the department.”
The mandate was reportedly triggered after some residents lodged complaints over seeing a Trump mask on a Brooklyn unit’s truck.
Other items that are said to be included in the ban are T-shirts and other decorations with the president-elect’s name or image.
The New York Post quotes one unnamed insider as saying, “The firehouse is supposed to be a symbol of America. That’s hard to believe when you can’t post a picture of the president.”
However, NY1 is reporting that an official indicated “...the directive was not aimed at any particular candidate and was simply a restatement of longstanding FDNY policy of keeping politics out of the workplace.”
