Founder of far-right organisation arrested last month over death of police officer







12 people have been arrested in a series of counter-terrorism raids in northern Hungary.

The national police say the raids, which were ordered by the counter-terrorism force TEK, also netted automatic weapons, handguns and explosives.

Officers swooped early on Tuesday morning in the capital, Budapest, Mosonmagyarovar, near the border with Austria, Vac and five other locations.

All 12 suspects are believed to be connected to the Hungarian National Frontline.

The founder of the far-right organisation is suspected of involvement in last month’s killing of a police officer in the village of Bony near the western city of Gyor.

11 were arrested on suspicion of violence against members of a community and possession of illegal firearms.
