Jets- Dolphins bold predictions: Brandon Marshall goes off

Views 2

As crazy as it may seem, the Jets have a chance to get their season back on track this Sunday.
With a victory over the Dolphins, the Jets record will improve to 4-5. Is that a perfect record? Certainly not, but it at least gives the team hope heading into the second half of the year.
Obviously, the complete opposite can happen with a loss.
Earlier this week, we gave you our predictions for who will win. Now, lets take a shot at predicting a few non-score things that may happen.
The defense will play a complete game . for the first time this year
The Jets defense was one of the NFLs best a season ago. They could attack the passer with their front, force turnovers in the secondary, and as a result, dominated teams from start to finish.
This year, that hasnt been the case. The Jets havent put together a complete effort yet. Theyve had drives, quarters and halves where they played well. But not a complete game.

Can the Jets contain Jay Ajayi?

Which Jets do you need to keep an eye on?
This Sunday, that will change. Look for the Jets defense to shut down Dolphins running back Jay Ajayi and attack quarterback Ryan Tannehill all day.
Receiver Brandon Marshall will go off
This will be Marshalls first game in Miami since the team shipped him away after the 2011 season. To say hes a little fired up would be an understatement.
Marshall spent the better part of his media availability Wednesday ripping Dolphins cornerback Byron Maxwell, and the Miami media. He even dropped a comment (before stopping himself) about how hed like to have a 200-yard day.
Marshall hasnt been as impactful this year as last — defenses have doubled him almost every play — but look for him to dominate the Dolphins.
Will he have 200 yards? Probably not. But 150 isnt out of the question.
The defense forces four turnovers
During the Jets turnover drought earlier this year, head coach Todd Bowles reiterated, time and time again, that theyd eventually come. Maybe not that week, or the week after, but eventually the Jets would start getting takeaways. They come in bunches, Bowles said, multiple times.
These last two weeks, the Jets defense has forced two turnovers in each game. Against the Dolphins, theyll finish the game with four total. Look for a couple Tannehill interceptions, and a fumble or two.
The defense has been so close to breaking out. This week, it will happen.
