Lightning Tears Through Mildura Causing Major Blackouts and Leaving Trail of Destruction

More than 21,000 homes were without electricity in Mildura on November 11 after a lightning storm ripped through the region knocking out trees and power lines. According to an ABC report, emergency workers received more than 200 calls for help.

The storms hit the region about 7:45 pm, continued throughout the night and pelted the area with powerful winds, hail storms, and thunder. According to the SES, Mildura was one of the worst hit areas, with reports of a mini-tornado sweeping through the region and damaging buildings.
