There are a lot of gaming headsets/headphones to choose from in 2016. They range from budget gaming headsets to high end wireless gaming headsets. Although budget gaming headsets might look enticing but most of them have very poor sound quality alongside a poor microphone. To get a decent quality gaming headset you should consider spending a decent amount of money instead of buying the cheapest one available. Gaming headsets are worth it only if you do play a lot of multiplayer games and things like surround sound and enemy positions matter to you.
In short pros of gaming headsets are -
1) Optimized for gaming in multiplayer gaming scenarios
2) Surround sound for better enemy positioning awareness.
3) A microphone.
Cons of gaming headsets are -
1) Poor sound quality compared to non gaming headsets.
2) Most budget gaming headsets are pure garbage in sound and microphone quality.
