Secretary Bob McDonald said that the VA needs to transform to keep up with modern times, including it restructuring its facilities to accommodate transgender veterans. “Many V.A. buildings were built with single-gender restrooms," Sec. McDonald said. "We've got to make these transformations." The secretary also noted the need for more communal living spaces.
