Early Wednesday morning, Duke tweeted, “This is one of the most exciting nights of my life...Make no mistake about it, our people have played a HUGE role in electing Trump!" 
He also commented, “Donald J. Trump now has the chance to become one of the greatest Americans to have ever lived - we have the moral high ground.” 
Just hours before, Duke had tweeted, “GOD BLESS DONALD TRUMP! It's time to do the right thing, it's time to TAKE AMERICA BACK!!!” 
Earlier this year, the KKK endorsed Trump, a show of support the then-candidate was slow to repudiate, notes the Huffington Post.
In promoting the Trump campaign, Duke warned voters that the failure to go with the GOP candidate was, “treason to your heritage.”
