U.S. product safety officials announced a recall affecting 2.8 million Samsung Electronics Co. washing machines, in another hit to the company’s reputation already reeling from the botched recall of its Galaxy Note 7 phone.
According to CPSC, the top of the washing machine could unexpectedly detach during use.
Samsung received 733 reports of "excessive vibration" or the top detaching from the chassis of the machine.
The recall affects 34 of Samsung's top-loading models that were sold from March 2011 to November 2016.
