The Maruti Suzuki Swift has long enjoyed being on the top of the sales chart and this time Fiat is coming to challenge them, not for sales of course but for supremacy. The Grande Punto changed Fiat's balance sheet in the positive in Europe. Both the Maruti Suzuki Swift and Fiat Grande Punto use the same 1.3-litre Multijet diesel engine which has been developed by Fiat. The Punto comes in a higher state of tune while the Swift develops 75 BHP, the Sport version of the Punto develops 90 HP of power. The Maruti Swift is slightly cheaper than the Fiat Grande Punto and both cars return almost similar mileage.
