The mayor of a small Pennsylvania town was voted out of office on Monday after his town council rebelled against him for sharing a barrage of racist, derogatory messages on his public Facebook page.

Yet West York Mayor Charles Wasko feels no regret for the offensive messages that cost him his job, including memes joking about lynching President Barack Obama and referring to the First Family as monkeys. Instead, he posted a number of equally inflammatory posts in the aftermath of the town council’s vote, many of which reflect his support for Donald Trump and antipathy towards Hillary Clinton.

One photo of Bill Clinton at the second presidential debate is captioned “I didn’t rape that ugly one, did I?” Chelsea Clinton, seated beside him, is shown with the caption, “That’s mom.”

Another features two women, one of whom is weeping while the other comforts her. “I’m so sorry the bad man touched you inappropriately,” the caption reads. “Let’s wait 20 years and expose him once he runs for president against Hillary Clinton.”

The meme apparently references the women who have accused Trump of groping, forcibly kissing, and otherwise sexually harassing them in the week since he denied ever engaging in such behavior at the second presidential debate.

Wasko sees himself as proudly un-politically correct, speaking openly to WHTM about his offensive views about black people.

“The racist stuff, yeah I’ll admit I did that, and I don’t care what people label me as,” he said of his posts about the Obamas.

Despite outrage from local residents and town council members over these sorts of messages and Wasko’s letter offering his resignation, he has signaled he may not follow through on his promise to leave office. State law does not allow the borough council or court to remove a mayor from office, according to the Washington Post, and he published a rambling Facebook post on Monday night suggesting that the town council did not accept the conditions he laid out in his resignation level. He did not attend Monday's meeting.

The six-person council is ignoring Wasko’s feet-dragging, voting unanimously to appoint borough council president Shawn Mauck as his replacement. The Post reported he will finish up Wasko’s term as mayor.
