Heavy rain hit the Sydney area of Nova Scotia on Monday, October 10, with over 220 millimeters recorded in one day. Flooding affected many parts of the area, including Cape Breton, with damage caused to areas. Emergency services were tasked with attending the scene of the flooding, while local schools were closed.
