On Monday afternoon, a 7-year-old girl in McKeesport, Pennsylvania told a bus driver that she hadn’t been able to wake her parents that morning, reports the Washington Post.Â
Authorities were alerted and, upon investigating, found the couple dead from a suspected drug overdose.Â
The victims have been identified as Christopher Dilly and Jessica Lally.Â
In addition to the young girl there were three other children, ages 9 months, 3 and 5, living in the home.Â
Though none showed signs of ill health, all were taken to an area hospital for examinations.Â
For now, their care has been charged to Allegheny County’s department of children, youth, and families, but Lally’s sister and mother reportedly plan to file for custody.Â
Though tragic, the situation is far from a first in the area.Â
The county has one the highest rates of deadly overdoses in both the state and the nation, notes the Washington Post.Â
