Scrambled Thoughts takes a look at Ghost in the Shell: The New Movie (2015). Major Kusanagi and Section 9 investigate the assassination of the Prime Minister, at the same time a mysterious double of Motoko's makes an appearance.

Continuing the story line of the Pyrophoric Cult episodes of Ghost in the Shell Arise, Ghost in the Shell The New Movie delivers on beautiful animation, and dynamic action. However, the film falls short on its story. The film starts off strong with great characters and an interesting narrative. But the film fails to pay off the plot points it raised earlier. While still filled with a lot of great moments, Ghost In the Shell The New Movie is ultimately a disappointment.
