[] I know one common practice with inner city car dealerships is that they will buy cheap cars at auction, then when they go to finance them, the down payment is usually what they paid for them at auction, so right there they've at least broke even on the deal. The rest of the money comes from the interest rates and monthly payment.

[] At church camp, in my teens, we had a 40 gallon water heater to cover a camp of about 200 kids. Since there was so little hot water, you got in and turned it on. Cold water after the water heater was relatively warm because the piping was exposed in the heated mountain bathroom. Water from the ground was so cold that it caused headaches. You didn't want to waste that relatively warm water in case all the hot water was already gone.

We would put kool aid in the girls shower heads. They figured it out quickly but seeing girls with splotchy stains was funny... You know, I just figured out why I was a virgin until I was in my 20s.

It wouldn't make sense to have a sale like that at an electronics store because you can sit on that product for as long as you want to...unless you're going out of business, in which case you will get crazy good sales on stuff because they'd rather sell it for something than not sell it at all.

It's the same concept at a grocery store but it's more common because the food has an expiration or a sell by date where you can't continue to sell it after that. The comment you responded to was specifically talking about grocery stores, and you said they shouldn't have sales like that. But they should, because if they can't move the product before the expiration date then they just have to throw it away.

I'm not sure at all why this is even remotely confusing.
