A family of cassowary birds met with tragedy after a car killed two chicks in north Queensland, despite the presence of warning signs for motorists. The Brisbane Times report that two chicks were killed by a vehicle and that, the Minister for Main Roads and Road Safety, Mark Bailey said their deaths were a “terrible outcome”.
