MTV EMA nominations 2016: Beyoncé and Justin
Bieber lead the way with five nods


Beyoncé and Justin Bieber lead the way with the
most nominations for this year’s MTV EMAs.

The pop superstars have both picked up nods in
five categories, closely followed by Adele,
Rihanna and Coldplay.

US singer Beyoncé has been nominated in
categories including Best Video for Formation,
Best Female, Best Live Act, Best Look and
Biggest Fans.

Canadian star Bieber is nominated for Best
Song, Best Male, Best Pop, Biggest Fans as well
as Best Local Act.

Adele is keeping the side up for the Brits,
with nominations in the Best Song category for
Hello, Best Female, Best UK and Ireland Act and
Best Live Act.

Rihanna, Sia and Lady Gaga are also nominated
for Best Female, while Bieber will battle it
out against Calvin Harris, Drake, Shawn Mendes
and The Weeknd for Best Male.

This year’s contenders for Best New Act are
Bebe Rexha, DNCE, Lukas Graham, The
Chainsmokers and Zara Larsson

Coldplay, Little Mix, Years & Years and Zayn
Malik will compete with Adele in the Best UK
and Ireland Act category.

Beyoncé was the big winner at this year's MTV
VMAs, making history with her 24 wins,
surpassing Madonna as the most awarded singer
ever.

The winners will be revealed at this year’s
ceremony in Rotterdam on November 6.
