It was a Jay Ajayi 11 yard touchdown in the overtime period that won it for Miami. The Dolphins were able to move the football for 426 yards. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill hit on 25 of 39 passes for 319 yards with three touchdowns and two picks. They win despite a -2 turnover margin. The Dolphins defense had trouble defending the Cleveland running game as the Browns posted 169 yards on the ground on their 32 carries.
Cincinnati fell to 1-2 following the 29-17 home defeat to the Denver Broncos as a -3 ½ point betting favorite. The total went over 42 points. The Bengals failed to hold a one point lead midway through the fourth quarter as they surrendered 13 straight Denver points. Cincinnati put up 332 yards of offense. They ran well with 143 yards on 29 carries with Jeremy Hill rushing for two touchdowns. Andy Dalton hit on 21 of 31 passing for 206 yards and a pick. The Bengals did a good job of stuffing the Denver ground attack but they allowed first year starting quarterback Trevor Siemian to toss for 312 yards and four touchdowns.
