SpaceX has revealed in a recent statement on its website that the explosion of the Falcon 9 rocket on September 1 was likely caused by a large breach in the helium system.

SpaceX suffered a setback on September 1 when its Falcon 9 rocket exploded while fueling up for a test.
On Friday, the company revealed in a statement on its website that the likely cause of the accident was “...a large breach in the cryogenic helium system of the second stage liquid oxygen tank.”
The helium system is reportedly responsible for modulating the pressure within an upper tank, notes Florida Today.
According to the update, a team including experts from SpaceX, NASA, and the U.S. Air Force, among others, has made this preliminary determination by analyzing the remaining debris and “...scouring through approximately 3,000 channels of engineering data along with video, audio and imagery.”
The company says that they “...anticipate returning to flight as early as the November timeframe.”
