Notes: Houston moves to 2-0 on the season with the 19-12 home victory to the Kansas City Chiefs as a +1 point underdog. The total went under 41 ½ points. The Texans were able to hold onto their first half 13-3 lead. The defense did a great job in the win for Houston as they held the Chiefs to 291 offensive yards with 172 through the air and four sacks. KC was 0 of 2 inside the red zone. Brock Osweiler went 19 of 33 passing for 268 yards with a touchdown and two picks but he was unable to engineer a touchdown in four red zone drives. The Texans finished the game with 351 offensive yards and got a perfect 4 of 4 on field goal attempts by kicker Nick Novak.
New England is 2-0 on the campaign with the 31-24 home victory to the Miami Dolphins as a -5 ½ point favorite. The total went over 42 points. The Patriots were able to hold onto their 24-3 halftime lead that became 31-3 midway through the third quarter. It was an outstanding offensive performance by New England as they amassed 465 yards of offense. The running game produced 161 yards on 38 rushes. Jimmy Garoppolo hit on 18 of 27 passes for 234 yards with three touchdowns prior to injuring his shoulder. Then backup Jacoby Brisssett went 6 of 9 for 92 yards and engineered a touchdown drive. The Patriots did allow a total of 459 yards to the Miami offense with 389 yards passing with touchdowns to quarterback Ryan Tannehill. New England did pick off two of his passes and finished with a +3 turnover margin.
