Impressive, slow-motion footage of an alligator lunging out of a river in an attempt to catch a great blue heron flying overhead.

The drone video, filmed near Holla Bend National Wildlife Refuge in Arkansas, USA at the weekend, shows the shadow of the large bird reflected in the water, prompting the reptile to launch itself out of the water in a failed attempt to catch the prey.
