Thousands of people attended a ‘Diner en Blanc’ event in New York.
The tradition, which was begun three decades ago in Paris, is now celebrated in 70 cities around the world.
Diners did not know the location of the event – lower Manhattan’s Robert F. Wagner Jr. Park – until they turned up at pre-arranged meeting points around the city.
Five thousand people paid $37 each to attend.
