Agra, Sep 12 (ANI): Pooja and Nandini, two sisters living in Agra, are spreading the message of love and harmony in the communally restive Uttar Pradesh. In one of its kind initiative, the sisters are teaching Hindu and Muslim students both Hindi and Urdu in Malin slum. The duo is teaching students lessons from Bhagavad Gita and Quran, the holy books of Hindus and Muslims respectively. A strong belief in brotherhood and peace is what prompted the sisters to start these classes. Their students include children whose families can’t afford to provide them with formal education. Pooja completed her post graduation in Hindi and learnt Urdu from her friend while her sister is still in school. Wanting to use their education for a greater purpose the sister-duo started teaching at their home, free of cost. With more students joining and support from the society they shifted the classes to a Hanuman temple nearby. Both Hindus and Muslims have been living together peacefully for generations in Malin. The mother of Pooja and Nandini always supported the education of her daughters and wants her daughters to achieve heights that she couldn’t. The family strongly believes that religion should have no bearing on one’s opportunity to avail education and everyone should have an equal chance to gain knowledge. By teaching children the religious texts of both the religions, the sisters are showing them how all religions propagate the same tenets of living in peace and harmony with fellow humans.
