Notes: Rutgers finished the 2015 campaign with a record of 4-8 and missed a bowl game for the first time since the 2010 season. Chris Ash enters his first year as head coach and will have nine starters return on offense and seven to the defense. Chris Laviano enters his senior year with the program as quarterback. He completed 61% of his throws in 2015 for 2247 yards with 16 touchdowns and 12 picks. The team went backwards defensively last year as they surrendered 462 yards and 34 points per game.
The Washington Huskies concluded last year with a mark of 7-6. The earned a berth into the Heart of Dallas Bowl and defeated Southern Mississippi by the score of 44-31. Chris Peterson returns for his third year with the program. Peterson will have eight starters return on offense and six to the defense. Quarterback Jake Browning is back for his sophomore season. Browning hit on 63% of his throws in 2015 for 2955 yards with 16 touchdowns and 10 picks. The Huskies were a strong defensive team a year ago by allowing 18.8 points and 352 yards per game.
