An owl has been freed after getting tangled in a barbed wire fence in Colorado. According to a Facebook post by the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office, the rescue occurred last week shortly after the department was notified about the trapped animal.

Responding officers called in assistance from Colorado Parks and Wildlife who sent a staff member to carefully remove the bird’s feathers from the wire.
The post explains that after the animal was rescued, “it was taken to a local rehab center to be checked out!”
