Islamic body blocked from Burma

President Thein Sein announced last night on state tv that The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation would not be allowed to open an office in the country.

The global Islamic body planned to open an office to offer humanitarian support to Muslims in Arakan State. Thousands of protesters, led by buddhist monks, took to the streets against the plan.
