The Popocatépetl volcano spewed volcanic steam and gas into the sky over central Mexico on Saturday, August 20, following a series of emissions over previous days. The National Center for Disaster Prevention (CENAPRED) reported 78 low-intensity exhalations with steam spreading towards the west. The center also said a 1.8-magnitude earthquake took place nearby, according to 20minutos’ Mexican branch.
