Notes: It will be interesting to see how the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense responds this year after having defensive minded coach Lovie Smith fired in favor of offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter. Jameis Winston returns under center for the team after a good showing in his rookie campaign. Winston may see a series or two. Mike Glennon is an experienced backup for the Bucs. Glennon returns for his fourth season and has started 18 games for the team in his first two games of the year. Glennon saw no regular season snaps last year. Ryan Griffin is also in camp and has spent his first three seasons with the Saints and Buccaneers. He has never taken a regular season snap. Doug Martin returns at running back for the team and is coming off a career high 4.9 yards per carry average a year ago as he played in all 16 regular season games.

This marks the debut of Philadelphia head coach Doug Peterson. He takes over the fired Chip Kelly and must sort out who can play and can’t play in his system. The Eagles will start Sam Bradford at quarterback. The veteran played in 14 regular season games last year and completed 65% of his passes a career high for 3725 yards with 19 touchdowns and 14 picks. Chase Daniel is an experienced backup in the league. He enters is eighth season as a backup in the league and has two career starts. Daniel has put up good preseason numbers in his career and it’s a reason he has hung around the league. Rookie Carson Wentz will see action in this game. McLeod Bethel-Thompson has bounced around practice squads since 2011 and is also in Eagles camp. The team looks to improve on the 30th ranked defense in the league from a year ago.
