A town in Norway built a huge bonfire for its annual Viking tradition and set a new record for the world's tallest bonfire. The bonfire, known as Slinningsbålet, is lit annually in June in Slinningsodden, on the country’s west coast, as part of the Midsummer festival and the celebration of John the Baptist's’ birthday. Slinningsbålet first set the record for tallest bonfire in 2010, when it reached 132.71 ft. This year, it beat the record after being measured by laser at 155 ft.
