Manipur, July 22 (ANI): Manipur has been blessed with favorable agro-climatic conditions that boost the production of a variety of fruit and vegetables. To give a push to the expanding food processing sector, the state's Department of Commerce and Industries offers youths a number of schemes designed to channelise their entrepreneurship spirit and help them set up their ventures in the food processing industry. Rasheswori Devi is one of the many youths who underwent such training. After undergoing a short-term Entrepreneurship Development Programme, she launched 'Deba Food Industries' in 2008 and started a business of manufacturing candies and pickles with the help of locally produced fruits including mangoes, pineapples and plums. The factory has generated jobs for many local youths. The current government has been promoting entrepreneurship under its Skill India and Start-up India programmes. Such ventures help unemployed youths make their own living as well as contribute to the economy. Like Devi, many youths are waiting to avail the immense opportunities available in sectors like food processing, handicrafts, weaving and more. Schemes offered by the government have helped many unemployed youths become successful entrepreneurs.
