"Unfortunately what we have seen today is an act by a minority faction within the Turkish armed forces. This is a movement encouraged and used by the parallel structure. These people will receive the necessary punishment against the unity and solidarity of the country by the answer we will give them as a nation. They will pay a very heavy price for charging at people by using the tanks, jets and artillery obtained by the opportunities provided by the people of this country. As the President, Prime Minister and the government we will take all the necessary steps by standing tall. We cannot behave otherwise and we will not leave the arena to them. I believe that we will end this invasion as soon as possible."

"Nobody's strength will suffice to test our resolve."

"Mr. President.."

"I would like to invite our people to take to the streets, to the airport. Let's gather at the squares, at the airport as people of this country. Let this minority group come there with their tanks and artillery and they can do whatever they want to the people. I have never recognised beyond people's power and I will not do that from now on."
