A man who crashed his 2016 Tesla Model X while driving on the Pennsylvania Turnpike says the car’s Autopilot function is to blame, reports Gizmodo.
Albert Scaglione, an art gallery owner from Michigan, told authorities that he engaged the feature only moments before the vehicle bounced off a guard rail, crossed the lanes, crashed into a median, and flipped.
None of the car passengers were seriously injured in the July 1 accident, according to the Detroit Free Press.
Tesla denies the function is to blame.
In a statement, the company noted, “We have no data to suggest that Autopilot was engaged at the time of the incident.”
Regardless, the incident comes only days after news of another Autopilot-related Tesla crash surfaced.
In that case, the accident, which occurred in Florida on May 7, was fatal.
