This fortunate diver encountered two humpback whales when he went underwater off the coast of the Turks and Caicos Islands in February 2016. He definitely wasn’t expecting to see them this close. In video footage captured of the encounter, one of the whales opened its mouth extremely wide to take in large amounts of water, in order to filter out the small fish and krill that the species lives on.
